What is the ISDN switch off?
From September 2023 businesses will be unable to buy Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) telephone systems. In 2025 they will be switched off completely, ceasing to exist.
What does this mean?
If you are using ISDN or PSTN you will need to review your telephony solution over the next couple of years. Before 2025, you will need to have plans in place to move to either a pure IP voice solution, or an IP connectivity/transport solution.
What do I need to do?
If you were unaware of the switchover don’t worry, we’ll consult with you and advise you on how you can migrate to IP. We’ll talk you through the benefits of replacement technologies such as SIP trunking and hosted phone systems and how you can protect your investment whilst you migrate. The good news is that the benefits of this replacement technology exceed those of ISDN and PSTN.
